A strong storm swept across University City yesterday afternoon. It did a lot of damage and knocked out the power for 12 hours.
So rather than sit in a sticky, hot and humid house, I decided to sit by the Mississippi. Quite a bit cooler, but still sticky.
There was a lot wildlife about. A large number of frogs were trying to cross Highway 67 and most were not making it. It looked like a particularly gruesome screenshot from "Frogger".
After dodging as many as I could, I made my way to the Lincoln Shields Recreation Area and perched myself on the river's edge.

Well Richard I can honestly say that this is one time I am glad there were no photos. 😦Here's a song for you, just to ease your mind a little until all that uncomfortable weather goes away.

😦 Yes, lots of frog meat on the road, sadly.Mungo Jerry – one of the more memorable one-hit-wonders. Most enjoyable!

Beautiful shot of the heron.Hey, did you know that Hwy. 67 runs through my town, too? I think I've lived somewhere along this highway my entire life, except for when I lived in Cheyenne when I was first born. That is so cool. We live just down the road from each other.:D
