I continue to be fascinated by the subtleties of sky light, particularly that made in conjunction with clouds and sun. These are difficult to photograph thanks to the massive amount of light that the sun generates. So I underexpose drastically and produce a falsely darkened image, but one that I find quite intriguing.

In this photograph (as you also find here) the foreground is reduced to a black silhouette and the background to a series of subtle red hues. I was focusing much more on the color than the pattern at first, but tonight as I regarded the image again, I realised that, quite clearly, the light has patterned into a small eye looking out above the sun.

An eye in the sky. Rather eerie, if you ask me. 🙂
