Again it is so hot (98° F at 6 p.m.) that I am spending time looking at old photographs rather than seeking out new ones. (Although that didn't stop me last night.)
It's fun to browse through old shoots and find something overlooked. Here's one from Quebec during the summer of 2005, my first experience with a digital SLR. Really, I shouldn't have been let loose with one – I did not know how to use it properly. It took me at least two years to be barely competent.
Nonetheless, much more by accident than design, I managed to catch a few interesting shots. This handheld twilight shot of a pony and coach was one. How I managed to keep the moving coach in focus and blur the background remains a mystery. I suspect some wine might have helped.
