This is Canyon Ferry Dam near Helena, Montana.
As you can see, the water level is only a little way beneath the top of the dam. Behind it stretches the vast Canyon Ferry Lake. As of today, the height of the water in the dam is 3797 feet. The dam overflows at 3800 feet. The current discharge rate is 5700 cubic feet per second, which is a lot less than the 23,000 CFS in the middle of July, and bodes well for Missouri River water levels from now on but it really illustrates just how much water had to be dealt with over the summer.
