We did – but not a very good one. Of more interest in the gathering evening mist, made acrid by the smoke of many fireworks, was a view of Chase Park Plaza Hotel through the tree of Forest Park. Looking rather like those smog shrouded buildings in the film "Blade Runner".
Closer in, the fountains shimmered on the lake at the base of Art Hill. I would have collected more than this single image, but a policeman shooed us out of the park. A curfew has been instituted and the park is out of bounds after 10 p.m. Perhaps that makes some sense from the point of view of crime prevention, but it's a loss nonetheless.
