I was taking a picture of this spider that I found under a cabinet in the kitchen for the 'Shoot & Tell' group when I looked a little deeper into the background behind it.
I saw some small white blobs that I couldn't really make out with my eyes, so I focused my camera on them to see what that would record.
What I got astonished and amazed me. Especially when I inverted the image, so that the blobs looked to be floating in the air. A family of baby spiders having fun with balloons!Pretty neat, hey? 🙂
Indeed – great find and image of it. They really are tiny. Thanks, Richard.
Glad you like it, Merle! 🙂
I like your description:
One of the benefits of a good camera.
And a house full of spiders! :lol:Thanks, Star. 🙂
Thanks, Ed. :)Originally posted by edwardpiercy:
The balloons are the cocoons containing the eggs that produced all them little critters.
Ummm, pretty but kind of creepy at the same time. Of course spiders are not one of my favorite life-forms.So what are the balloons, actually? In any case, great shots.
Ilk! Like some sci-fi movie. Except — real. :yikes:
A bit "Invasion Of The Body-Snatchers' isn't it? Well, I guess all these sci-fi writers have to get their ideas from somewhere!:)
Someone told me once that spiders and roaches won't live in the same space. I don't kill spiders anymore.Better spiders than roaches.:yikes::lol:

Interesting. I hadn't heard that. But we have no roaches here!
And if you have mice, get a dachshund. The mice will hear the dachshund and sense that they are in danger, even if the mice are way up where the dog can't get to them. Instinct, I guess. And then they will vacate.Of course I'd recommend getting a dachshund even without mice. 😆

Something to bear in mind. We get an occasional mouse! 😀
@Richard, make sure they aren't brown recluses because that's what we've got. @Star I didn't used to kill spiders either, but I started to when I found out what kind of spiders we have. We're using nasty glue traps to catch/kill them because we can't use chemicals because of our parrot. Not fun living with something that could harm you or your beloved pet. :awww:
Hi Naomi, these are not brown recluses. Just harmless house spiders, living as best I can see on flies.
Of course you have to protect yourself and your loved ones, Naomi. Those brown recluse spiders are some vicious critters. The effects of their bites are awful.
Yeah, those brown recluses need to get out more! 😀
You want some of our brown recluses? We'd love to re-locate them. :p
