In Alabama right now, after a long drive through Illinois, Kentucky and Tennessee. Gas prices are high (although no where as high as European levels) and that made filling up the car quite painful.

Never mind. It's great to be on the road again and seeing places I've never seen before or seen only once – like the wonderful Land Between The Lakes Park in Kentucky/Tennessee.

But the strangest sight has to be this Saturn I rocket at the first Alabama rest stop over the border from Tennessee on Interstate 65. Just outside of Athens.

We came out over a rise and caught sight of the floodlit tower. At first, I couldn't make out what it was but as we drew closer it became clear. Quite a sight!
