Another beautiful day. A bit cool, but not oppressively so.

We were planning a trip out to Montgomery City but time got away from us, so we ended up much closer to home on the Katy Trail near Weldon Spring.

A lot of bikers were enjoying the route too. Dodging the rapidly approaching bicycles as they came up from behind was quite a sport.

The low but still bright white sun cast sharp shadows through the mostly bare trees.

The rich palette of autumn color has passed. Shades of brown only. Attractive shades to be sure, but something about these particular landscapes brings out the urge to go monochrome.

Below is the Little Femme Osage Creek, looking placid and serene in the autumn light. This old railway bridge crosses the river.[/URL]
