We took a walk around Start Point today. We began at the Start Point lighthouse car park, and took the footpath leading west to the cliff path that leads back around the point, past the lighthouse itself.

It's an alarming route, with narrow chalk pathways winding up and down, frequently only a few feet from sheer drops onto the sharp rocks below. Nonetheless, it was worth challenging my vertigo to see the sea crashing against the cliffs while a heavy and thick mist covered all but the lowest 100 feet or so.Visibility was so poor that the lamp was lit and the fog horn sounded, fortunately on the other side of the point.
