A very large, diffuse and gloriously red sun filled the late evening sky last night, and I chased it all the way out to St. Charles County hoping to get a lovely shot of it on the horizon.
Well, by the time I reached my favorite spot, it was very low and then to confound issues I found that my camera battery had run down. I hastily replaced it, but even that was not quite fast enough for I no time to adequately set up and focus my long lens before the sun slunk behind the trees. All I got were a few blurry shots (not helped by the heat haze rising from the baked corn fields). Nothing to feel pleased with.
Still, once it had gone and I settled down a little, I could enjoy a delicious twilight.
