I took this shot of a shuttered fast food restaurant last Saturday on Page Avenue.
Wouldn't it be nice if such closings came from a time as faded and distant as I contrived to make this photograph look? Unfortunately, that's far from the case around St. Louis. 😦
😦
They may be struggling indeed. A lot of people just haven't got the spare cash any more. Times are tough, as we know.
I read on Yahoo that a lot of chains are going out of business. Sad indeed.
😦
Subway went out of business? Wow! We have the $5 sub here. We have several subways. One is in the newest Super Walmart. And they have a special going now—$5 for ANY footlong sub, not just specific ones. Of course, they may be struggling.
Great photo, Richard. Sad subject, though.Kinda like looking at the future through the lens of the Great Depression.Terrific effect.
That's just the kind of impression I was hoping to convey – thanks, Star! 🙂
Are they the same as the Subway here? Hmmm I wonder. Subway in Sin are expensive.. :sherlock:

Not expensive here – probably my favorite fast food place. 🙂
Just needs a '52 Ford and it'd be perfect. :)One local pizza chain here (of the Papa John's chain) closed down all of their local places here about a month ago with absolutely no warning. The employees just showed up for workand found the doors locked. And they didn't even know what to do to get their checks. The owners couldn't be found.
Jeez – that sucks for those Papa John's employees. Shabby treatment indeed. I don't think they are alone in that, alas. 😦
