I had to go down town early this morning to drop Ruth off at the Megabus stop.
Returning home, I detoured through Forest Park. It was still bitterly cold, about 4°F, and the air was unusually clear for St. Louis.
A handful of walkers and runners were braving the frigid weather. I hoped they were well insulated. Even the few minutes I spent outside the car taking these shots was enough to give my ungloved fingers a little frostnip.
I drove on past the Art Museum. The lake at the base of Art Hill was completely frozen. Astonishingly, the fountains were still going full blast.i suppose this was to stop the piping from rupturing, but it made for quite a sight.
