A day of geographical milestones. We stopped at the Pizza Hut in Rugby, North Dakota for supper, and a look at the marker of the geographical center of the North American continent. Not quite accurate, alas, but close enough.
More accurate is this marker of the continental divide between the drainage basin of waters flowing into the Atlantic and waters flowing into the Hudson Bay and Arctic Ocean – the Northern Divide.Taken on U.S. Route 281 at its far nothern end.
Now we are in Minot, North Dakota at a Super 8 motel. 500 more miles further on. Tomorrow, over the border.
