My broither lives a block south of Tower Grove Park, so we walk there after dinner when i visit. Clearly, I need to visit in the autumn. That's a lovely picture.Lovely are the lines at the polls, too. Does my heart good to see people taking the time to cast a ballot.

I ended up going to two different polling places because the first one, my old one, was the wrong one. They had my name but my previous address so I had to go to the one in my district, get my address changed and do a provisional ballot. There were no lines at either place. Love the photo with the flag.

Richard this is a beautiful thing! :hat: and I am not talking here about the fall colors 😆 seeing all these people, staying on line with the hope of making history to bring change, and remembering also the glorious speech Barack gave last night,I can say for sure,"this is beautiful" Thanks for sharing my friend !

Very nearly every registered voter in my county voted this year. That's the first time that's ever happened here. It was a close vote, too. We were one of the few counties in Arkansas who ran almost even for the two candidates. The entire state had record voter turnout. It was awesome!

Bridges and trees are about the best things to photograph. But modern structures that people work in are crap are they not? Those Bauhouse inspired blocks, shown in the views above, highlight this. What a pity cheap and nasty is the rule in modern architecture. There aught to be a law that nothing larger than a private house can be so damn ugly.

I was so inspired by the beauty of crowds of people congregating in an effort to make democracy work, that I almost missed the elementary school style architecture!

😆 Not the most beautiful buildings to be sure. But, just as Matt says, I was more caught up by the crowds and the incredible atmosphere of excitement and anticipation that radiated from them. Thanks for all your wonderful and heartening comments, folks. 🙂 It was a great day for democracy.

Wonderful to see how many people got out a participated this time! Regardless of who supported who it gave me hope in our system to see how much public interest there was.

Great band, Matt. Thanks for the link.Adolf Loos.

In my mind, my fleeting brush with greatness goes like this:ME: It looks so shiny and modern!ADOLPH LOOS: Modernism sucks! Bah!

'Undead, undead…' Great band indeed. You may remember that song from the bizarre Susan Sarandon/David Bowie vampire movie, "The Hunger".
edwardpiercy said:
@ Matt. But wait. Everything new is modern. So everything new sucks. But everything old sucks too. So basically, everything always sucks.Hmmm. That's a whole lot of suckin goin on. But it's probably correct given our human history.@ Richard. I think that movie would be good for a PETA ad — that scene where Sarandon looks at the meat on her plate and almost pukes.
Stardancer said:
"What is that great sucking noise?"Where have I heard that before?
noah counte said:
Every thing old is new again. That's why it sucks.
edwardpiercy said:
Ah thanks for making me laugh. 😆
noah counte said:
Go easy on the laughter. That stuff will kill you.
