A little local produce to end this Sunday evening.

Missouri has a thriving wine industry that is slowly making bigger waves, but is a long way from challenging California or New York. The wines resemble those of Rhine valley, tending to a full body and semi-sweet flavor. Still, there are a few dry varieties such as this Beauvais from the St. Genevieve Winery. Like all Missouri wines it has a strong flavor quite removed from the mass-produced pleasant but insipid standard table wine. In this case, a strong hint of cherry.

I don't drink enough local wine, often finding myself buying a cheap bottle of precisely that same largely unexciting table wine from France or California. Drinking this reminds me that I should be more adventurous.
