A friend of mine hired me to do a photoshoot of his very junior baseball team last night. So, laden with cameras, I walked down to Heman Park to find a collection of very little people in blue and green uniforms gathering around a dusty patch designed to accomodate the dimensions of the players.
My interest in sport varies from zero to marginal, but watching these youngsters having a blast with ball and bat was good for my soul. My friend was coach for the blue team, and how he managed to keep these little people focused on the game beats me – clearly a worker of miracles. Focused they were though – mostly – and the small gathering of parents had every reason to be proud of their children.
I had far more fun than I anticipated, and as a photography event it was a very good learning experience!
