Took an early evening walk through the Pickle Springs wildlife area today, and came back with a cluster of photographs, some of which are OK, and some less so (as is usual with my photography).
But one photograph, taken with a cheap Canon 50mm 1.8 II prime lens on my Digital Rebel XT, came out remarkably. This is untouched in Photoshop (apart from resizing). It is a shot through a natural hole in a rock formation, focusing on the rock in the background. This is not blue, but came out this way. The extraordinary thing about this picture is the tricks it plays with forground and background – is the blue rock in front or at back? Hard to tell, isn't it?
Furthermore, to me, the blue rock looks like a sitting figure leaning to one side.
