And I am ready to shut down and go to sleep. I shall do so with a Sherlock Holmes tale and some Louis Moreau Gottschalk piano music on the hi-fi.

I got a lot done today, but drew limited satisfaction from it. I had a sense of uninvolvement; an occasional mood that speaks more to my state of mind than the qualities of whatever work I do.

Perhaps listening on Monday to a Radio 4 radio play about the meeting of Martin Heidegger and Paul Celan followed by an interesting read of a novel (The Crimson Twins) by the Spanish writer Francisco Garcia Pavon aided this mood – both were heavy on existentialism. I feel pretty existential today!
